The award recognises employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. In fact, Stagecoach progressed through the bronze, silver and gold criteria in three consecutive years, showing an increasing commitment to Service-leavers and Veterans.

Stagecoach signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2015 and is one of the largest Forces friendly employers with over 2,000 Veterans and Reservists currently employed, all supported by the Stagecoach Armed Forces Employee Network.

Interim Operations Director for Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire & South Lancashire and Armed Forces & Veterans Co-Lead, Simon Tramalloni, said: “Our Veterans network ensures Stagecoach continuously provides the best support and opportunities to Veterans and the wider Armed Forces community, so we are all extremely proud to be recognised with the ERS gold award.

There is huge value for employers from ex-Forces personnel and the wider Armed Forces community, where we will continue to highlight this pool of talent, not only within our business but in the communities we serve.”

As part of their commitments to the Forces community, Stagecoach has worked with numerous Military charities, including RBL, Help For Heroes, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and Veterans into Logistics, in some cases offering free travel, especially for Cadets – as well as for Serving personnel, Veterans, Cadets and their families on Armed Forces Weekend and Remembrance.

They also work with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and MOD to offer interviews to any Veteran or their family on enquiry.
