Royal Air Force Photographer Leah Jones has built a career shaped by the power of visual storytelling. While serving in the RAF, Leah chose to pursue Falmouth’s MA Photography (Online) course to strengthen how she approaches photography and prepare for life beyond the military.

“As an RAF Photographer, my work has taken me on operations and exercises in high-risk environments, where I have seen firsthand how powerful photography can be in recording and communicating events,” Leah shares. “Those experiences made me want to study photography more deeply, to understand all aspects of the practice and develop my work beyond a purely military context.”

“I chose Falmouth’s online Photography MA for the flexibility of the course as it allowed me to study alongside my RAF career,” she adds. “The online format of the MA worked really well because I could balance studying with military commitments whilst deployed overseas.”

Supporting your journey
Falmouth has a strong track record of success and has already supported many veterans to achieve their creative ambitions through online study, thanks in part to the wellbeing, accessibility and employability support at the centre of the student experience.

Falmouth is an approved provider with ELCAS, meaning you can use your credits towards the course. The University also welcomes applications from those with non-formal educational backgrounds, where you are able to use your relevant experience, qualifications and achievements in lieu of the normal entry requirements for the course team to consider.

The future demands creativity. And creativity thrives at Falmouth.
