Step into a different way to Serve

Transitioning from Military service to civilian life can often feel daunting. But MBDA is increasingly proving to be the natural next step for anyone leaving the Armed Forces.

For Tom, the sense of purpose that MBDA shares with the Military really resonated. Tom is a Lance Corporal in the British Army Reserves and finds that this role goes hand in hand with working at MBDA. “MBDA embodies the Army’s values of promoting British interests abroad. The company does great things for the Armed Forces; the dynamic working arrangements are really flexible and I get time off for Service leave and annual deployments.”

Mark saw MBDA as a great place to build on all the skills he’d gained in the Services while being encouraged to explore new pathways across the company. “There are loads of opportunities, supported by some really great programmes around learning and development.” It’s a place where your experience is valued and you can continue to learn and grow.

While for Hayley, it was the fact that her experience was so highly valued. Joining MBDA after 17 years in the Army, it didn’t take her long to find her place. “Everybody who’s been in the Military has some form of transferable skills useful in MBDA. We have many different disciplines and you’ll find most trades of the Army here.”

Career development
When Rebecca joined MBDA after leaving the Royal Navy, she was struck by how “From day one, they had a clear career development path for me. MBDA really cares about your career and wants you to develop. As a Military-positive employer, they support you to explore possibilities and pathways across the company. It’s been the perfect transition. There are lot of ex-Military people here and our network is superb. It’s somewhere I immediately felt at home.”

It’s clear to see that taking the step out of the Armed Forces into a civilian career can be difficult, but that it’s a lot easier with MBDA.
