Humberside Police – An outstanding force made up of outstanding people

Working for Humberside Police doesn’t have to mean patrolling the streets. Just as important as our uniformed officers is our 2,000-strong team of professional support staff that work tirelessly behind the scenes.

It’s these skilled people who provide the organisational capability to police our region in the most effective way possible.

Our police officers could not do the job they do without the support of police staff. From analysts who study evidence so that our resources are effective, to finance teams making sure salaries are paid and HR staff recruiting the right people for every role – we couldn’t do it without them.

Rated outstanding!
Our recent HMIC inspection rated us outstanding – the first force in England and Wales to secure such an accolade. But our work is far from done – we won’t rest until every person that needs us has an outstanding service. That’s where our staff roles come in. These vital roles help us to keep our officers on the streets, our police cars in tip-top condition and our police stations open 24/7.

Building a diverse workforce that represents our community is key to our success. Our positive action team helps every candidate to overcome any perceived barriers to joining the police. Whether it’s neurodiversity, a physical disability or simply English not being your first language, we can support and guide you through the recruitment process and into employment with Humberside Police.

And that goes for our Veteran workforce too. Those with Military backgrounds bring a unique set of skills to the force that help us to deliver an outstanding service to our communities. As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, Humberside Police takes an active role in ensuring our Veterans are celebrated and supported while working for us. Leaving the Forces and finding your role in society can often be a challenge, but our wellbeing and guidance experts make that transition easy.
