We’re #WalsallandProud – to be continually improving!

We’ve got our sights firmly set on making Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust an outstanding-rated organisation.

We are also proud to be part of our local Black Country Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) meaning close partnerships between our neighbouring organisations and ensuring we are meeting the health and social care needs across the area and coordinating services to plan ways that improve population health and reduce inequalities between different groups.

Our journey hasn’t been without its challenges; but continuing improvement, a positive culture and innovative ideas led to the Trust rated care as “Outstanding” by the CQC and highlighted a number of areas of outstanding practice in both the hospital and community. Come and join our teams and see our improvements for yourself – bringing along your own ideas and suggestions too, of course!

New improvements
As part of our ongoing improvements, work is well underway on our emergency department and acute medical unit development project which is due to be completed in 2022.

Our new £36m development will incorporate an emergency department with ‘front door’ access to an urgent treatment centre and a paediatric assessment unit within it. The first floor will provide an acute medical unit, along with a medical ambulatory emergency care unit, within the refurbished existing emergency department footprint. This will create a variety of fantastic career opportunities.

Walsall Healthcare also offer great incentives such as generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, salary sacrifice, car lease, flexible working, and great professional development opportunities.
