Leading homecare provider Right at Home is thrilled to announce the launch of its new charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

The franchise has pledged to raise more than £20,000 for the charity across its network of 59 locally-owned offices in the UK and the two organisations will also work together to share best practice and knowledge on the disease.

Right at Home regularly holds Dementia Friends information sessions but it is now committed to creating 1,000 new Friends within the next 12 months. Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which aims to give people a better understanding of what it is like living with dementia.

Right at Home will be kick-starting its fundraising efforts during Dementia Action Week, running from May 20th – 26th, before preparing to bake for Cupcake Day on June 13th – one of Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship events. The partnership will also see staff at Right at Home embarking on a number of high-energy activities to raise money for the charity.

Speaking on the partnership, Right at Home UK CEO, Ken Deary, said: “As a national provider of homecare services, we are already committed to holding dementia friendly activities for our Clients and communities, as well as educating businesses and schools on how best to support those living with dementia.

“Given our knowledge and the specialist care services we offer, it seems the natural step to join forces with a charity that is a great support system for those living with dementia.

“We are excited as a network to work together to reach our fundraising target and continue raising awareness of dementia in the communities where we live and operate.”

Charlotte Matier, Director of Fundraising, added: “Alzheimer’s Society is delighted to be chosen by Right at Home as their first charity partner. We are very excited to be working together with an organisation like Right at Home, who have a real passion for providing quality care and support to people in the community.

“There are currently 850,000 people living in the UK with a form of dementia, and if we don’t take action, this number is predicted to rise to over 2 million by 2051. This is why we are so grateful to companies like Right at Home for choosing to unite with us against dementia. On behalf of all at Alzheimer’s Society, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the organisation, their commitment to both fundraise and raise awareness will really help to create a more positive future for people affected by dementia.”

Right at Home provides the highest quality care and support to Clients living in the comfort of their own home. It provides a wide range of services from personal care and medication reminders through to full-time live-in care and specialist dementia care.

Each Right at Home office is independently owned and operated.

We are committed to making a difference everyday by maintaining dignity and well-being for those we support.

When providing support, we place great emphasis on the emotional well-being of our Clients and importantly, their families. Something as small as sharing a cup of tea and having a chat can make a huge difference to a person’s state of mind, reducing the significant problem of loneliness in the elderly.

Our services are highly personalised, yet flexible to meet the needs of the people we support. We can provide support on a short-term or long-term basis ranging from an hourly daily visit through to 24-hour live-in care, 7 days a week.
