Cleveland Police – committed to supporting our Armed Forces Veterans

Off By Ed Hanna

Having successfully achieved the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award in 2022, work has continued to ensure we are supporting those who are leaving the Armed Forces, including those in our employment who are Reservists.

We have introduced paid leave for Reservist employees and advertise our roles in specialist areas, all as part of our ambition to encourage our Forces colleagues to apply to work at Cleveland Police.

With a new police entry route just advertised, we now accept experience within the Armed Forces in place of some of the academic requirements which had been seen as a barrier. The Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) is currently advertised on our website, search ‘careers’ via: www.cleveland.police.uk

For those with an academic background, we have opportunities via other routes such as the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) and the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP), all attracting the same competitive starting salary of just over £28,500 per annum.

Careers
There are also a number of police staff roles where the experience and skills gained in the Armed Forces would be invaluable. With positions such as force contact officer (call handler), police staff investigator and intelligence analyst among many more, there is a variety of careers for you to consider.

Due to this commitment to our Armed Forces colleagues, we have teamed up with Civvy Street Magazine to bring you an insight into our force and the jobs available. Over the next few months, each addition will bring you information on Cleveland Police and what working for us could do for you.
