Dr Gray’s Hospital, the heart of Moray

Dr Gray’s Hospital, the heart of Moray

Off By Ed Hanna

NHS Grampian is responsible for delivering healthcare in the North East of Scotland, which comprises the areas of Moray, Aberdeenshire and the city of Aberdeen.

A partnership brings together three local authorities and three integration joint boards, as well as a range of other public and voluntary organisations. With industries including oil and gas production, fishing, and farming, NHS Grampian serves a population of over half a million (10% of people living in Scotland).

Situated between the Moray Firth coast and the Cairngorms National Park, Moray is an outstandingly beautiful area that enjoys its own sheltered microclimate. Service-leavers will struggle to find a more spectacular location for resettlement, with excellent schooling, and leisure opportunities locally, as well as accessible national and international travel via both Aberdeen and Inverness airports.

Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, the heart of Moray, is a modern 188 bed district general hospital filled with history and character. The original building dates from 1819, while the new hospital opened in 1995 and continues to benefit from ongoing investment. Dr Gray’s is embarking on an ambitious 10-year transformation plan and is looking for staff across a variety of areas with a desire to help shape its future role and function.
