Alstom has built an international reputation on the performance and technological lead provided by its transport solutions. They’re aiming to attract Service-leavers and Veterans to continue with their bold ambitions.

Alstom Chairman and CEO, Henri Poupart-Lafarge, describes the organisation vision succinctly, saying: “The role of Alstom is not only to provide rolling stock, services and maintenance, but to offer mobility solutions to a world in profound transformation. Alstom produces a portfolio of high-speed trains, monorails, trams and other signalling and digital mobility infrastructure and has a reputation for leading innovation and project management skills in the sector.

Naturally, the company is determined to maintain its position and is looking to attract Service-leavers and Veterans to join its workforce at sites around the UK. Part of this project involved signing the Armed Forces Covenant and investing in recruiting former Military personnel, who for their part, bring excellent transferable skills and attributes to the organisation.

As a result of their commitment to the Forces Family, Alstom received a gold award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme last October, with Managing Director of Alstom UK & Ireland, Nick Crossfield, commenting: “We are dedicated to using this recognition as a catalyst to further enhance our support for the Military community and create meaningful opportunities for their transition and growth.”
