CECA Wales
A few weeks ago, we signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Wales, at the Welsh Parliament building, the Senedd.
The signing was a hugely significant recognition of our commitment to working with the Armed Forces in Wales. In reality, however, we’ve been working closely with the Armed Forces in Wales for the last six years; we just hadn’t formally recognised it!
Opportunities
So, what does it mean for us? We have so many opportunities for people leaving the Armed Forces and returning to civilian life. You can view our short film online about the types of projects that we deliver. As well as operating machinery and building infrastructure, we’re looking for organisational and project management skills, as well as leadership qualities. We’re already successfully employing many Armed Forces leavers – and the salaries and working conditions are pretty good too!

But it’s not a one-way street. We’re very proud of our ‘Leadership Challenge’, delivered in partnership with the Armed Forces. This two day event is a very important part of our calendar, testing the leadership qualities of our aspiring apprentices and cementing our relationship with the Armed Forces. If you’re thinking of leaving the Armed Forces and looking for opportunities in a civilian environment, take a look at the civil engineering sector.
Be part of a sector that’s delivering the infrastructure our nation needs to prosper.
