If you are currently Serving in the Armed Forces or a Veteran, you may be considering the police as a post-Forces career. We’d like you to specifically consider joining North Wales Police.

Coupled with the fact that you would be joining a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation, you’ll be operating in areas of outstanding natural beauty, with a mix of rural and urban communities and experiencing a wide range of different challenges on a daily basis.

North Wales is one of the safest places to live in the UK, serving a population of 676,000 people and covering an area of 6,300 square kilometres. As a high performing police force, North Wales Police constantly seeks to improve the service provided to our diverse communities.

A good fit
After 14 years RAF Service, Gary Sinfield moved to policing and says: “The police seemed like a good fit. The team ethos and a drive to get the job done well is evident.”

Gary has been a Response officer, a Community Beat Manager and is now a School Police Officer across 23 schools. “Policing overall, is hard but rewarding”, he adds.

Similarly, Heidi Goldsack joined in 2004 and became the first female dedicated football officer for North Wales Police in 2014 and works in operational support. She received a commendation for her work at the Euros and a year later received another for outstanding conduct, professionalism and bravery for dealing with violence and disorder at a football fixture. She also did the planning for the deployment to Glasgow’s Cop 26 and for when US President, Donald Trump, came to the UK.
