Devon and Cornwall Police – supporting local communities, building relationships and combating crime.

When people ask me why I joined the police, I say: ‘To help those that are in need.’ There is no better feeling than finishing a job and thinking, ‘I really helped that person’, and the police has helped give me my identity back along with pride.

It’s given me everything the Army did and more: excitement, a family of brothers and sisters, plus a way of life with a moral code to live by. I can’t thank the Force enough for this second chapter of my life. I tell everyone to join up if they feel it’s for them, so the same to you as a reader. Let’s keep the ‘thin blue line’ holding and not let it break. It’s a job that can be hard and upsetting in parts, but it does have its excitement and rewards!
