Are you considering civilian employment after military service?

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service provides great opportunities to work for a public service provider that invests in the training, development and wellbeing of its employees.

We signed the Anned Forces Covenant last year as we recognise the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families can bring to us.

One of the many pledges we made was to support the employment of veterans of any age, working with the Career Transition Partnership to establish a tailored employment pathway for service leavers.

We also support the employment of Armed Forces spouses and partners, recognise relevant military qualifications in our recruitment/application processes and support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces by accommodating their training and deployment where possible.

Chief Fire Officer Jason Thelwell QFSM said: “We have always endeavoured to support those who have served, those who are currently serving and all those connected with the Armed Forces. We strongly believe the experience they have gained provides key transferable knowledge, skills and discipline that can be of huge value to us.

The Armed Forces Covenant formally recognises our commitment to supporting both the physical and mental wellbeing of this often unrecognised part of our community.”
