TECHVETS ANNOUNCES NEW TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR VETERANS
TechVets, a unique not-for-profit initiative and RFEA programme dedicated to building a bridge for veterans into cyber security and the technology sector, is launching two brand new initiatives to boost employability for veterans.
The first is the ground-breaking Veterans Transition Programme for 2021, delivered in association with leading Data-to-Everything company, Splunk. Splunk, is offering service leavers who are in their notice period to leave the Military, the opportunity to join a six month programme that will help them transition directly from a career in the Forces to a new beginning as an expert ‘Splunker’.
Splunk is offering a fully funded training path, including exams. On successfully completing the training, candidates will be offered a full-time position as either a sales engineer or professional services consultant. The deadline for applications is 28th February 2021.
TechVets is also offering a unique and sector leading training opportunity, thanks to a new partnership with SANS Institute. UK service leavers will now be able to apply for free training courses through the SANS Work Study programme, which will offer a route into cyber careers.
SANS’ world-class training courses are available in various formats. There are monthly Live Online training sessions which will be open to applications from TechVets members. All of the courses are also available through an OnDemand format.
TechVets Director, James Murphy, is an Army Veteran of 19 years. He says: “We are really excited to announce these two new opportunities. As someone who has made the transition from Military to the world of tech and cyber security, I understand first hand how transferable the skills are, as well as what a fantastic career opportunity the industry offers.
