Give Us Time shortlisted for prestigious Millie Award

By Claudia Foxcroft

Small military charity, Give Us Time, has been nominated for the ‘Support to the Armed Forces’ award at The Sun Military Awards 2018.

Give Us Time was founded in 2012 and established as a charity in 2013 with the aim of supporting military families of both serving personnel and Veterans. Give Us Time takes commercially-let accommodation donated by owners of holiday groups, hotels, holiday homes, and timeshares, and matches them with military families in need of rest, rehabilitation and reconnection with their families after bereavement, separation, and mental or physical wounds.

A spokesperson for the charity said:

“We would like to thank our ambassadors, Ant Middleton and Scotty Darroch and our Patron, Lady Kitty Spencer, for their tireless work in continually raising awareness of the great work that we are able to do at Give Us Time.

“We are honoured to have been nominated for this award and we hope that this will raise awareness of our charitable activities and ultimately increase the donations of properties, so we can send more military families on these much-needed respite breaks. We would also like to thank all of our amazing trustee who put so much time and effort into the running of the charity; without them we really would not be here.

“We would finally like to thank everyone who has helped and supported the charity since our inception, especially all of the property donors who have provided such important respite breaks for our military families.”
