How Poppy Scotland Can Help

How Poppy Scotland Can Help

Off By Ed Hanna

The 2018 Scottish Poppy Appeal marks an important milestone as we approach the centenary of the signing of the Armistice, which brought the First World War to an end.

While we must never forget the sacrifices made during the Great War and the conflicts since, Poppyscotland is reminding members of the Armed Forces community that they will always be there with a helping hand whenever it is needed.

Demand for Poppyscotland’s Employment Services has risen by 58% in the past year and they are helping more and more Veterans and Service-leavers living in Scotland find suitable and sustainable work. From training grants to ongoing employment support, their initiatives are designed to help at various  different stages.

Here are some of the ways they can help:

Employment Support Grants

Looking for work but don’t have the right qualifications? Poppyscotland Employment Support Grants can help get you the training you need.

LifeWorks courses

Looking for work but not getting interviews? Not sure what the right job is for you? Is disability or illness making it harder to find work? A LifeWorks fully-funded, residential five-day course could help.

EmployAble

Looking for work but struggling to focus due to low mood or stress? Living with depression, anxiety or another mental health condition that could impact on your working life? Employ-Able might be the right programme for you.

Disclosure service

Looking for work but concerned about your criminal record? Our Disclosure Service, run with specialist partners, could help.
