Take the Next Step to Your Career

The transition back into civilian life can be a difficult one for service personnel but we are here to assist you in making that change. We offer a range of professional courses and training packages designed to utilise your Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) and start your training programme 2 years before your intended leaving date, and for up to 5 years after leaving. Combine it with Individual Resettlement Training Cost (IRTC) and get even more training for your money!

Industry specific training courses

Our industry-specific accredited courses include; computing, leadership and management, accountancy, electrical installation, construction, human resource management, engineering, licensing and Land-based training.

We also offer bundle courses (two or more qualifications combined as a single bundle) to enable you to make the most of your ELC credits, in areas including health and safety, human resource management, leadership and management and land-based training. For more information about the best way to use your ELC credits for training, contact our Resettlement Team on 0845 3452235 or email resettlement@wiltshire.ac.uk

Don’t worry, if you’re still unsure about what you want to do after life in the Armed Forces, we have a team of Adult Careers Advisors based at each campus who will give impartial advice and guidance so that you can make an informed decision about your future career path.

The team also regularly visit Warminster Garrison Community Centre, Warminster campus and the Bulford Community Learning Centre to offer the same FREE service. Careers advice and guidance at these locations is also available for military wives, partners and dependants over 19 years of age.

Project JEMS – Jobs and Education for Military Families South West

When it comes to resettling back into civilian life it’s not just about you, your family are right by your side and they may want to use the opportunity to retrain or simply take some time for themselves by enrolling on an evening course.

In order to find out which of the education, training or job opportunities match your interests and qualifications, we need to collect some information about you in this survey. If you provide your email address as part of this survey, we will keep you updated with relevant opportunities.

Be Prepared

Remember, you can start preparing to leave the Armed Forces, using your ELC to start your training, 2 years before your leaving date. Contact us on 01225 756286 or email resettlement@wiltshire.ac.uk and speak to the Resettlement Team about funding and grants.
