What makes Gordon’s school unique?

drummersThere are many things that make a school standout; superb academic results, outstanding pastoral care, a beautiful setting, but there are not many attributes that make a school unique.  Gordon’s School is unique.  It’s not our new food service, though that is exceptional; it’s not our fantastic statue of General Gordon, because there is another at Brompton Barracks, the home of the Royal Engineers.  No, what makes us unique and gives that extra sense of pride and belonging to our students is our ceremony, and to be specific, we are the only school that is allowed to close Whitehall in London to traffic and parade once a year behind the school’s Pipes and Drums Band.

Why is Gordon’s special?

Gordon’s is a state boarding school.  State boarding has become the Forces great secret and with our location just down the M3 we are ideally placed for Gatwick and Heathrow.  Not only that but we are half the price of a normal independent boarding school, now that’s special!

Officially listed as “outstanding” by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Gordon’s is also non-selective and recognises that a good education is not just about outstanding examination results but a thorough preparation for life.

So if you are thinking of boarding, be it at Sixth Form as a “stepping stone to university” or for a caring nurturing and exciting main school then come and visit and really get a feel for our uniqueness.
