Following confirmation that one crew member has died and two remain missing, presumed dead, after an incident in the Moray Firth area involving two Tornado GR4 aircraft from RAF Lossiemouth on Tuesday, it is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm the identities of the three personnel.

RAF Typhoon and Tornado jets struck ten Gaddafi-regime ammunition storage bunkers and a military vehicle yesterday at a site near Waddan in Libya, using Enhanced Paveway II and Paveway IV bombs.
Over the weekend RAF Tornado GR4s continued missions over Libya, hitting targets including tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery pieces near Ajdabiya and Misurata, and ammunition bunkers in the southern Libyan desert.
