Classroom seminars and exercises were mixed up with hands on weapon management and life raft operation to ensure strategic thinking and practical skills were understood.

“The situation with piracy, particularly in the waters surrounding the Horn of Africa, is very serious and costs our global economy billons in lost time, cargo, insurance and counter measures every year,” explains David Johnson, Eos Risk Managing Director.

“We spent many months planning the content of this course from our own vessel protection experience as a benchmark for the maritime protection industry.”

The course has been designed to meet the requirements laid down by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) with regards to the selection of Private Security Personnel looking to provide armed maritime anti-piracy security services.

Highly qualified course instructors were able to bring their practical anti-piracy experience in delivering counter measures in high risk waters to the 17 course candidates.
