Supporting Those Who Served: The Centre for Veterans’ Health at King Edward VII’s Hospital

Off By Mia Craven

At the Centre for Veterans’ Health (CFVH), part of King Edward VII’s Hospital, we proudly celebrate 10 years of dedicated service to the UK’s Veteran community.

Since opening in 2015, we’ve proudly supported over 500 Veterans, helping them regain control over their health and wellbeing. As we look ahead, we have exciting plans to expand our services, reaching even more Veterans across the UK.

Free pain management programme for all Veterans
Pain should not be a lifelong consequence of Service. That’s why we offer a free, online pain management programme, available to all UK Veterans. Delivered by specialist clinicians – including a physiotherapist, psychologist, and a pain nurse – our programme helps you understand and manage chronic pain through expert guidance.

Conducted online, this programme is flexible, accessible, and specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of the Veteran community. Whether you’re dealing with Service-related injuries or long-term health conditions, we’re here to help you take back control.

Proven success with over 500 Veterans supported
More than 500 Veterans have benefitted from our programme, with many reporting significant improvements in mobility, mental health, and daily function. Our clinical team works with each Veteran to create a personalised plan, empowering participants to move forward with renewed strength and confidence.

Why choose the Centre for Veterans’ Health?
• Free pain management programme for all Veterans
• Delivered online, so you can access care from anywhere in the UK
• Led by clinicians who specialise in Veteran care
• Over 500 Veterans supported since 2015
• Military grants that can fund 100% of treatment costs for those on NHS waiting lists
• Ongoing plans to expand and enhance services

“I cannot thank the team or this programme enough. In 2015, when I was medically discharged from HM Armed Forces, I thought my life was over and ever since it has all been put on hold because of pain. I can now look forward to mine and my family’s future because of the strategies I have learnt on this course. Yes, the pain will always be there, and that, I have come to terms with, but it no longer defines me as a person. Thank you.”
PMP Attendee, Jan 2024

Military grants that cover up to 100% of treatment costs
In addition to our free pain programme, we also offer Military grants for Veterans, Serving personnel, and spouses. These grants can cover up to 100% of the cost of treatment, especially for people facing long delays on NHS waiting lists. From physical rehabilitation to mental health therapy, these grants make private, specialist care accessible when it’s needed most.
