Delivering world class paediatric care

Delivering world class paediatric care

Off By Ed Hanna

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare.

GOSH is an acute specialist paediatric hospital with a mission to provide world class care to children and young people with rare, complex, and difficult to treat conditions.  Together with our research partner, the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, we form the UK’s only academic biomedical research centre specialising in paediatrics. Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses.

We are the largest paediatric neurological centre in the UK and the principal provider of specialist child neuromedical and neurosurgical services for North Thames and the surrounding counties. We provide a national and international service for the management of rare and complex paediatric neuroscience conditions. We offer a number of nationally highly commissioned services, including Vein of Galen Malformation, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy surgery. GOSH is also the only UK centre providing treatment for children with juvenile Parkinson’s disease and will soon be part of a clinical trial offering CAR T-cell therapy to children with specific brain tumours.

Are you an adult nurse wishing to expand your horizons and develop your skills within paediatric nursing? The neurosciences team is looking for band 5 and 6 nurses to join them on Koala or Possum ward, where you will be exposed to medical, surgical, and high dependency paediatric neuroscience nursing at a world-renowned hospital. Previous neuroscience/paediatric experience is not essential.

Do you want…
• To have a greater understanding of complex neuroscience conditions?
• To use technology and innovation to enhance patient care?
• To work in an environment where your contribution will be valued and recognised?
• To work with a supportive multidisciplinary nursing team?
