Teammates – No matter what…

Teammates – No matter what…

Off By Ed Hanna

Sergeant Sarah Etienne joined Warwickshire Police in 2014 following a career in the Royal Signals. She says the practical and teamwork skills she developed in the Military made her well-suited for policing, helping with her transition into a new career.

In the Military, Sarah was a Ground to Air Radio Operator, working with Joint Helicopter Command. As a Sergeant, Sarah manages and supports a team of frontline officers, and attends incidents. She enjoys the variety of policing – every day is different, and the small size of the county means she can move around and gain experience across the force.

Sarah makes great use of her Armed Forces experience to make quick decisions, to be ‘the first person in’, to use compassion and empathy and to ensure she has her teammates’ backs, no matter what.

Warwickshire Police warmly welcomes people who bring the professional can-do attitude and teamwork ethos that comes from the Armed Forces. Whether you’re interested in a public facing role or behind the scenes, we have a range of career options available.

If you have at least two A-levels (or equivalent) and a passion for making a difference, why not apply to join us as a police constable? Our two-year programme is a blend of on-the-job experience and classroom-based learning. You’ll be employed and paid from day one. This programme works for people who don’t want to gain an academic degree but have the relevant qualifications and experience.
