Southern Co-op

Southern Co-op is a large, independent co-operative society established in Portsmouth over 145 years ago. Operating across 11 counties in the south of England, our main business is food where we have a network of over 200 stores. We also offer end of life services which includes funeral homes, crematoria, woodland and natural burial grounds and a dedicated bereavement care team.

Our food stores and funeral homes are licenced to use the national Co-operative brand but we operate as an independent society with a great team of around 4,000 colleagues and an annual turnover in the region of £450m.

We have officially pledged our support to our colleagues as reservists and veterans by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

We also work with the Career Transition Partnership recruitment service.
