Join our Centrica Pathway

Off By Ed Hanna

After leaving the Army, Jennie was one of the first women to go through the British Gas Service & Repair Apprenticeship. She then progressed through several management positions, before taking a lead on health & safety – a role she still enjoys today.

Jennie joined the Army at the age of 16.  She was posted to 7 Battalion REME, part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, where she Served with distinction for seven years as an Aircraft Technician.

After leaving the Military, she applied for an apprenticeship with British Gas and went on to become a qualified engineer. After three years, Jennie was ready for her next move and began to progress into management.

Jennie supported engineers in a management role for the next nine years, before taking the step into health and safety.

Jennie said: “Centrica has given me everything I’ve needed. I’ve received nothing but support and positivity, with equal treatment throughout. I feel that Centrica is so similar to the Military and helps me grow my confidence, no matter what role I am in. They’ve provided me with a great package and benefits, alongside the flexibility for a good work-life balance.”

British Gas are looking for more veterans, serving reservists and those transitioning out of the armed forces to join their team. For further information, visit: https://www.centrica.com/careers
