LIVE NATION ENTERTAINMENT, the world’s leading live entertainment company are supporting Armed Forces Day by providing thousands of free tickets to The Calling Festival 2014 this coming weekend through the charity Tickets For Troops.
Armed Forces Day, aims to raise public awareness of the contribution made to the country by those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces.
Troops will be able to enjoy Saturday’s headliner Aerosmith who have been getting rave reviews on their European tour, as well as high profile music stars Stevie Wonder, Jack Johnson and Gregory Porter.
Other names to grace the stage across the weekend include Paloma Faith, Richie Sambora, Radkey, Heaven’s Basement and many more, plus new additions James Bay, Jetta, Flyte, Norma Jeane Martine, Bruno Major, Jack Garratt, Will Heard and JJ Rosa.
Tickets For Troops was set up in 2009 to recognise the brave servicemen and women who spend months away from their families, need to be available to serve at short notice and put their lives on the line for our country. They recognise their commitment, drive and dedication by offering them, on behalf of our donors, tickets to events which they can share with their loved ones, as a small acknowledgement of the work they do.
Veronica Bamford, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops said “Music provides such a morale boost to troops who are both on and off duty and we are delighted that Live Nation are helping us mark Armed Forces Day in such a way this year. We hope all the troops attending the Calling Festival enjoy the first class acts and some much deserved time off from duty.”
Registered members can book tickets online to the festival at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk.
The charity has over 140,000 members of the military registered and has distributed over 500,000 tickets for events ranging from The Isle of Wight Festival, UK Live, England football, the rugby Premiership, top class cricket, darts, horse racing and snooker as well as major theatre performances and other music events.
