About us
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the independent regulator for work-related health and safety. Its purpose is to prevent workplace death, injury or ill health. To achieve this, HSE is responsible for setting the strategy, policy and legal framework for health and safety in Great Britain. 

Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, HSE worked closely with the Home Office and the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government to support the Government’s Building Safety Programme. After the Building Safety Bill received Royal Assent in 2022, HSE formally established the Building Safety Regulator (BRS). The BRS exists to establish a more rigorous and robust regulatory framework for high-rise buildings in England. 

We want to serve as a lasting tribute to those who have lost their lives due to poor and substandard structures. We will consign these instances to the past by providing oversight of the built environment, setting standards, offering advice to industry and Government, and overseeing work to drive increased competence of professions and trades working on buildings.

The role
As Senior Field Intelligence Officer, you will oversee the distribution of assessments and intelligence and offer guidance on appropriate tactical options to uphold BSR regulatory principles. You will also be responsible for developing and evaluating tactical evidence and assessing threats, risks, harm and vulnerabilities while identifying gaps and opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include: receiving and assessing information to disseminate to relevant parties; gathering, researching and evaluating information; identifying gaps in reports; preparing and delivering intelligence reports; adhering to legal frameworks; keeping up to speed with innovations in intelligence so that we implement the latest techniques and tactics; and promoting the production and distribution of quality analytical products.

About you
You should have experience in intelligence gathering and data security, including GDPR compliance in a regulatory or criminal law setting. 

Already familiar with how law enforcement agencies use intelligence and evidence, you will have experience using various information collection methods and gathering information from diverse sources. You already know how to organise data with programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook, and understand information management and data integrity issues.

You will have or be happy to work towards Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation.
