Enhanced Learning Credits

Enhanced Learning Credits

Off By Mia Craven

The opportunity to take up further training at heavily subsidised rates is too good to miss – and there are plenty of education providers and other organisations able to provide Service-leavers with quality learning and training opportunities.

The MoD solidly supports lifelong training and learning for Service personnel and Servce-leavers. To this end, the Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) provides financial support for Personnel and Service-leavers to find appropriate training to enable them to develop their careers. Support is given in each of a maximum of three separate financial years for higher level learning of a nationally recognised qualification at level three or above or, if pursued overseas, an approved international equivalent qualification with an approved learning provider. An emphasis on quality education and training is built into the system to protect their investment in you, as well as your own investment in time and energy.

Claiming your entitlement is easy…
Firstly, you must be a registered scheme member and have accrued sufficient Service before submitting an online claim. If you are still Serving you can speak with education staff while Service-leavers should contact their Single Service Representative (SSR) who will help to issue your account.

Once you have an account, you can start to look for an approved provider and appropriate course, before submitting a claim.

The organisations featured below are enthusiastic supporters of the scheme.
