Security Supervisor: Contractors Desk and Key Pound

The British Museum is looking to recruit a Security Supervisor to undertake management responsibilities within the Department to implement and enforce the security strategy to ensure the protection of staff, visitors, contractors, the collection and buildings. Security Operations holds the primary responsibility for ensuring the security and protection of the British Museum (BM) premises, staff and visitors and the collections.  It also has the lead role in the implementation of the Emergency Management and Business Recovery Plans.

Key areas of responsibility:

Supervising the compliment of Contractors Desk and Key Pound Administrators
Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating information to detect or assess risks or other issues and providing a response to resolve the issue.
Assist in the implementation of all operational requirements to facilitate Internal, Corporate, Educational and Special /VIP events and ensure all necessary security requirements are defined and met.
To assist in identifying vulnerabilities and the conducting security risk assessment.
Identifying procedural and physical weaknesses and participate in security reviews to resolve issues.

Person specification:

The successful candidate will have suitable experience relevant to a security / museum background, experience in conducting risk assessments for security issues and investigations. With proven supervisory experience in a security operations environment, they will also have demonstrable ability to lead by example, excellent planning skills, highly developed communication skills and report writing skills. They will be enthusiastic, with sense of humour and ability to liaise confidently with all staff across the Museum.
