The British Museum
The Security Operations team at the British Museum are responsible for ensuring the security and protection of the Museum’s premises, staff, visitors and the collections. We are recruiting for a Controller to ensure that functions in the Control Room are fully applied in a proactive manner to maximise and facilitate the provision of a first class service throughout the Museum.
As Controller, the post-holder will audit and monitor the operational usage and effectiveness of security alarms and systems to make sure that they are used to optimum levels and that any faults are minimised. Working in line with the Security Strategy, you will use your knowledge of the Control Room to safeguard all staff, visitors and aspects of the Museum.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working in a security control room environment, ideally in the cultural, heritage or commercial field. You will be prepared to undertake SIA training for Control Room operations as well as development of understanding of the behavioural sciences.
