The Coming Home Centre looks to teach Veterans in Glasgow skills in bike maintenance, woodwork, wilderness therapy and provide free hot lunches.
This year they look to have 500 registered veterans at the Centre. They work at the front line of veterans assistance in Glasgow and are quite unique in the work that we do. Why? They help at the point of need, a veteran walks in with range of needs, they help them or bring in other agencies for a face to face meeting.

The Coming Home Centre is a drop in centre for Armed Forces Veterans and Serving Military Personnel in the Community.
Based in Glasgow they provide tea, coffee and a daily hot meal free of charge to veterans. Eating a hot meal together is an activity that most veterans can identify with and relate back to their service experiences.

This year marks the 100-year anniversary of one of the most significant moments in British history but new research commissioned by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has revealed that many young people have no idea about the historic facts surrounding the First World War.
The One Poll survey quizzed the nation on their basic historical knowledge and understanding of the Great War and revealed a distinct difference between ‘Millennials’ knowledge compared to ‘Generation X’ and the ‘Baby Boomers.’

Statistics provided by the Service shows that relationship problems have been in the top five problems presenting in each of the last ten years. In the Tri-Service Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS) 2015, 52% of respondents stated that they felt that their relationship with their serving partner would be better if they left the Royal Navy / Royal Marines. 68% had started a conversation with their serving spouse about leaving the Service.
