Veterans’ Gateway records over 10,000 enquiries as it celebrates its first year in service

Veterans’ Gateway, the 24-hour service that helps former servicemen and women to navigate their new lives as civilians, has recorded over 10,000 enquiries and 183,420 website users since its launch, one year ago. Designed to offer a one-stop shop through which veterans can access advice on a vast range of areas, from housing to health concerns, Veterans’ Gateway has seen over 37,000 click-throughs to external sites, with the majority of users requesting advice on finance.

SSAFA Urges The Nation To Share Their First World War Stories

This year marks the 100-year anniversary of one of the most significant moments in British history but new research commissioned by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has revealed that many young people have no idea about the historic facts surrounding the First World War.

The One Poll survey quizzed the nation on their basic historical knowledge and understanding of the Great War and revealed a distinct difference between ‘Millennials’ knowledge compared to ‘Generation X’ and the ‘Baby Boomers.’
