A statue commemorating the life of a World War II pilot has been unveiled in a ceremony at Edinburgh International Airport.

The Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon Gavin Williamson CBE, was a special guest of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity last month.
The Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire met staff from the national charity of the Royal Navy alongside guests from Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) and the Portsmouth City Council.
The Massed Bands of the Royal Marines will perform their world-renowned Beating Retreat on London’s iconic Horse Guards Parade on 30th and 31st May. Only performed every two years, this magnificent pageant of military music, precision drill and colour dates back to the 16th century and is regarded as a piece of living history.
