British holidaymaker pleads guilty to killing UK soldier in Cyprus

Mohammed Abdulkadir Osman, 19, admits manslaughter of Fusilier David Lee Collins, 19, in Ayia Napa A British tourist has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a UK soldier in Cyprus, a court official has said. Fusilier David Lee Collins, 19, from Manchester, was stabbed to death after a fight broke out in a nightclub in the popular resort of Ayia Napa, last November. Mohammed Abdulkadir Osman, 19, reportedly from London, admitted manslaughter at a court hearing in Larnaca, Photini Larcou, registrar of the court, said.

MOD launches new Skynet satellite

The extra lines of communication will benefit personnel deployed in Afghanistan and other parts of the world, including the Falklands, Cyprus and on ships at sea. MOD pictures show the moment that Skynet 5D was launched from French Guiana, South America. It is the fourth satellite of the Skynet 5 project to be put into space since 2007 under a £4bn Private Finance Initiative ( PFI ) programme with Astrium , who built the satellite and service providers Astrium Services .

It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm the death of Warrant Officer Class 2 Graham Bean from 73 Engineer Regiment (Volunteers), Royal Engineers, attached to the 3 Royal Anglian Group, in Cyprus, on Tuesday 3 May 2011.
