UK to provide logistical military assistance to Mali

On Saturday, 12 January, the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, spoke to President François Hollande of France about how the UK can support French military assistance being provided to the Malian government to contain rebel and extremist groups in the north of the country. As a result of this, the UK has offered, at French request, 2 transport aircraft to help quickly transport foreign troops and equipment to the West African country.

Historic Signing Marks Victory for 15 (North East) Brigade

15 (North East) Brigade joined Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and its partners for the grand finale this week at the historic signing – just a week after thousands of people lined the town’s streets to welcome home the Light Dragoons from their tour in Afghanistan. Signing of the Armed Forces Covenant in Barnsley town hall. The last of the covenants to be signed in 15 Brigade (N&E) area.

MOD’s veterans’ Medical Assessment Programme moved and renamed

The Medical Assessment Programme (MAP) – a veteran’s mental health service – is moving from London to the Department of Community Mental Health Chilwell, in Nottingham, and has been renamed the Veterans and Reserves Mental Health Programme (VRMHP).
