Linden Homes Supports Service Personnel With Bespoke New Homes Package

Off By Ed Hanna

Award-winning national housebuilder, Linden Homes, is offering service men and women a bespoke new homes package at many of its developments across the UK, which is intended to help members of the armed forces to get on, or move up, the property ladder.

The Forces Help to Buy scheme supported by the government is available on new build homes up to the value of £600,000, and is intended to aid those needing to find a deposit. It offers armed forces personnel a loan of up to 50% of their salary (capped at £25,000), which is interest fee and repayable over a ten-year period.

The loan can also be used in conjunction with the government’s Help to Buy: Equity Loan, meaning a 20% government equity loan and a conventional 75% mortgage can be achieved without a deposit from personal savings.

Furthermore, Linden Homes has created its own package. For every £25,000 of the property value, Linden Homes will give members of the armed forces a £500 discount.

For example, on a £250,000 property the purchaser will receive £5,000 discount.

By combining the Help to Buy schemes along with Linden Homes’ Forces Package, forces personnel have a better opportunity to buy their first home, or move to another with reduced mortgage rates – and open the door to a property they may not otherwise have thought they could afford.

The Help to Buy Forces initiative is running until the end of 2018 only, and all interested personnel are urged to make an enquiry sooner rather than later, so not to miss out on their dream home. All purchasers who secure their home with Linden Homes will benefit from the opportunity to get advice from the team and the housebuilders independent mortgage advisors, to make the process as seamless and straightforward as possible.

Tom Nicholson, Divisional Chairman at Linden Homes, said: “The Forces Help to Buy Scheme together with our own Forces Package provides serving personnel with great helping hand on, or up, the property ladder. We have developments across the UK where the schemes can be used and with the government now suggesting Help to Buy Forces may end in 2018, I’d urge any personnel thinking about a new home to start making enquiries now to make sure they don’t miss out.

“Our team of experts will be on hand throughout the buying journey to support buyers along the way and answer any questions they may have. Ultimately, we want to provide service men and women with greater lifestyle choices and homes in areas that will simultaneously help towards the retention of personnel in the armed forces.”
