Court martial appeal sustains former SAS sniper’s conviction for illegally possessing gun and ammunition
A former SAS sniper, Danny Nightingale, has lost the latest stage of his battle against a conviction for illegally possessing a pistol and ammunition.
Nightingale, 39, was found guilty at a court martial last summer and sentenced to two years’ military detention suspended for 12 months. He was told he only escaped immediate custody because of his exceptional character.
