Disability charity named as a top digital leader
Computing and disability charity, AbilityNet was named alongside the BBC, Google and Mozilla as one of the country’s top ten digital leaders at an awards ceremony at the House of Lords on 11th November.
Winners were selected on the basis of their leadership and innovation in harnessing digital technology. AbilityNet’s selection as the highest ranking third sector organisation in the final list, demonstrates the success of its pioneering and sustainable approach to digital transformation, combining charitable and commercial services to change the lives of disabled people.
Nominations for the inaugural year of Digital Leaders 50 were received from the public and then voted on by members of the Digital Leaders Network and their peers, who cast over 9,000 votes. An expert panel of judges then selected the top ten leaders in each category.

“This is an amazing result for us – beaten to the top spot by the BBC in the not for profit category and then sixth in the overall rankings behind names like Google and Mozilla.
