Off By Sharon Black

Whether it’s the massed marching bands, the exciting displays or the splendour of the Grand Finale, there’s something for everyone at this year’s Birmingham Military Tattoo, on Saturday 27 November (6pm) and Sunday 28 November (2pm).

For more than 20 years the event has thrilled audiences with world class performers joining local groups to create a three-hour spectacle. This year organisers have secured the participation of the Band of the Polish Guard, the Royal Netherlands Army Reserve and the Royal Swedish Navy Cadet Band, while the UK will be represented by the Band of the King’s Division and the Band, Pipes and Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment. The National Youth Marching Band, meantime, will brings together many individual youth marching bands from across the UK.

Complementing the Massed Bands, this year’s Tattoo also features many displays sure to appeal to all the family, including a special commemorative display marking the 150 Year Anniversary of the Cadet Force.

Tickets are on sale now priced between £13.50 and £21.50 from the box office on 0844 338 8000. Reduced prices are available for children and senior citizens. Additional booking fees may apply. More information is available by visiting www.birminghamtattoo.co.uk.
